Being a bit of an old fart and remembering what NSC was like in its infancy ( when all people posted was about football ), why don't all these ridiculous polls disappear? Some of the topics people put up for polls are, frankly, ludicrous and belittle the system - and this, I gather, was the cause of the problem last Saturday. Who on earth put that poll up on the screen needs shooting.

Let's keep this to football matters - Albion and other things that are topical. Some of the threads in the last day or so have been edging back that way and it's been much better.

See you at Hillssborough on Saturday.

This arguement has done the rounds many a time before. Personally I like all the crap polls and silly jokes AS WELL AS the albion footy stuff.

As been mentioned before, if you do not like the sound of a thread title, don't open it !!

Argument.:dunce:

I don't think polls are particularly important, and I don't think they ever really give a true representation of NSC's opinion as if someone is not interested in a topic they will not vote.

I was expecting something really exciting from you Mike!!:jester:

I doubt it. You may, however, find the odd typo!

I hope you're a bit better when you are marking homework!:D:D:D

NSC has become a " social club " now rather than a John Motson football pundits forum.

Especially after the get togethers people now and socialise with each other.

When I meet my friends in the pub we discuss football a lot but also women, music, films, politics, world events etc otherwise it would be pretty damn boring.

Keep things as they are.

What would help is if people used the post icons better. Albion icons for albion related posts!

Well said Braders my boy!

NSC can be inspirational, frustrating, emotive and fecking hilarious all at the same time - just like a conversation down the pub.

I would JUST LOVE IT if it stayed as it was

nah NSC is simply Pub Talk, none of us chat 24/7 about football when with mates having a few bevvies, NSC would die a horrible death and fade away if it was just football. This argument has been done several times and its always rejected

I can't agree with "better in the past". "Different in the past" certainly but then if NSC was still as it was in 1997 or even in 2001 we'd all be saying how predictable and boring it was on here nowadays. That'd be the four or five of us with a tartan thermos and a blanket over our knees that were still on here, of course.

NSC has never been an exclusively "Bobblehat Zone" and I hope it never will be because the combination of football and non-football topics makes both all the more readable and enjoyable.

P.S. I am also a very old person. Although being a lady, the description "fart" is inapplicable. We don't, you see.:D

I'm also an "old fart" but I have to side with the youngsters on this thread. It's the variety of topics that keeps NSC fresh and interesting-long may it continue:clap2:

This has legs...

If we took away polls, we could move them somewhere else and, bear with me here, call that other place NorthStandPolls.

I'm onto it...

Nah, don't change. Plenty here to enjoy, even for us non-Albion-fan invaders. What would we do otherwise?
There's only so many gratuitous Guy Butters errors / Bobby Zamora memories / Mark Yeates promising touches I can dredge up!

Hats and scarves boards are boring, keep the variety. . .

How about a poll on this important subject?
