Wolves' Icelandic utility man Ivar Ingimarsson is a target for QPR.
Rangers are keen to bring the 26-year-old former Brentford man back to west London and approached Wolves last week.

But the Second Division title favourites are unable to match Ingimarsson's current wages and his demands may scupper the deal.

Ingimarsson has been lined up as a possible replacement for Rangers' former England Under-21 defender Clarke Carlisle.

Loftus Road boss Ian Holloway was already contemplating selling Carlisle before axing him from his squad for going AWOL ahead of Rangers' 3-0 victory against Chesterfield.

Carlisle, who has refused to sign a new contract, failed to report for training on Friday morning.

The club were unable to contact him until that afternoon, when he claimed to have overslept.

"What he did was totally unacceptable," said Holloway.

"If our preparations aren't important enough to him then he's in big trouble.

"I've never slammed the door on anyone but I need to speak to the people upstairs about this."

I seem to remember reading an interview with Ingamarson in the Arsegas saying he'd love to stay at Brighton, but he'd never consider playing in the 2nd Division.
He seemed fairly sincere in his greed, don't think there's much in this.

That item has been on the BBC site for a few days

It does state very clearly that QPR cannot meet his wage demands.

He is getting paid really good money to be a reserve for a Premiership team so why move anywhere.

Next summer though, he's out of contract and we could be being promoted...........

Season long loan anyone? that way he still gets paid prem wage and we chip in a percentage to Wolves.
Sell Kuipers sign Ivar using Kuipers money for Ivar's wages anyone?

Possibilitys are endless but IMO we need a centre-back alongside Cullip, we need Ivar!

I would love to see that. He & Danny had a brilliant understanding

I would hope that he feels he needs to be playing, or next summer he will be one of 100's out of work and looking for a club. Surely it's better to try and get sorted out now, Wolves are certainly not gonna keep him on.

SC is our trump card on this one, as II has played his best football under him.

A good midfielder, who could easily fit in alongside DC at the back, blimey it would be a fantastic signing.

All down to his wage demands and whether Wolves would be prepared to just let him go, I guess.

Coppell knows Ivar very well and if he was available i think Stevie would consider getting shot of Michel to bring him in. Sir Danny and him looked great together and would be emmense in this division and i think the first aswell.

Isn't it nice how we can talk about building a team now we have a capable, not to mention loyal, manager.:)

I put a note in here in May saying I think Inger will play for us at some point this year. He gets on really well with SC and I think he will be back by probably Nov at the very latest. If he wants to go to QPR then he will definitely come here due to the relationship with the club. Point re the season long loan is spot on. I have a feeling though he maybe here until Jan, putting himself in the window and may get snapped up after xmas.
