Usually 7 seconds I think....but not always in effect.
Nope. When harty and I did the radio at the Withers, it was 100% live and there was always the jeopardy of someone swearing which apart from Alan of Hayward’s Heath who once swore as hawsey would read out score updates from all over the country and Alan would contact us apoplectic as he wanted to wait to 5 o’clock and get all his scores together

I do remember at least on Mike hunt on the phone in.
my favourite was always when we were doing the phone in and a commotion was happening behind us. It was three gorgeous interestingly dressed young ladies handing out free tickets to a lap dancing club in town and they were trying to catch all the players as they walked past us!

you could tell the players who were single and out for a laugh and those who were attached and were trying to sneak past!

and the farmer guy who phoned in and in the background you could hear lots of baaaaing …… we asked him where he was and he was arm deep in sheeps bottoms helping them deliver their lambs! Bizarre!

If she'd swiftly moved on with no mention, the vast majority would have missed it.

R2 is daily mail radio most of the time, and no school child in the country would be paying attention to it

I was at sitting on my desk working from home with radio 2 on in the back ground talking my boss in Canada. I just caught it and bust out laughing. He was like what so funny, when I explained what was said, he said we can’t get away with words like that on the radio in Canada 😂

I remember an early Alan Partridge radio show had pretty much the same thing, he asked ‘Alan why are you such a tit?’ Alan apologised to his audience and says sorry it’s live etc but the caller hasn’t been cut off and says ‘you haven’t answered the question?’ to which Alan then loses his cool and shouts ‘why hasn’t he been cut off!? He should have been cut off’ - makes me laugh thinking about it…
