My son had an iTouch he sold to his Mum.

Not for the first time he forgot the password to the apps store so how can we get it reset ?

I think there is a form on iTunes you can fill out when you go to log in. It says "forgotten password". I@ll assume it sends a reset link to your email.

When you go to login press 'forgotten password' and they will send a link to your/his email.

you don't.

Try some 3rd party software - I used this

Transfer iPod to iTunes, copy iPod to PC and iPod to computer

Although it costs $20 it allows you to take a backup of your IPod
