it help - processes

when the old pc really slows down and some function stops, go to task manager, today I noticed that cpu usage was reaching 95-100% but we were only running outlook.

Whilst looking at processes there were a right range with one iexplore.exe taking up 489 processes and a huge amount of memory.

Are these processses all essential, good or are there some bad mothers I should know about,

love

LC

Just recently I have had the same problem with iexplore.exe. It seems to running multiple times and when I close the computer down they refuse to close automatically and each one has to be closed individually. Would love us to find a solution.

Have you had any problems with anything other than Outlook?

Have you done the usual defrag and disc cleanup also i found outlook was crap if you had more thana hundred or so messages in your folders?

That isn't something i have had a problem with but this computer runs Vista so?

Auto archive all the items over a month old (you will still be able to retrieve them but they don't affect cpu usage.

You will find it in tools, mailbox cleanup, auto archive.

thanks for the tip, but b4 i do it, where does it all go and how easy is it to find again?

I would suggest shutting down your system, smashing the computer into as many pieces as possible, mailing it to Bill Gates and then purchasing a super sexy slender Apple product.

for old PCs do a google search for the running processes and see which ones are pointless, run msconfig and stop them loading up from the start or go to the Admin tools and do it via Services.msc.
all very technical but can boost old PC speed by 50% in some cases!
