Is this how you remember Paul Brooker

From the Reading Hob Nob site

I like Brooker but he's been bought under false pretences. he's a pretty defensive midfielder, which is fine, just not all the time, and especially not for the less mature in our support. OK so he's not going to rip a team apart like Giggs or Ronaldo (which is the class of player some on here would have us buy) but he's a very diligent cover for his full-back; not more so than the West Ham game where he kept Etherington very quiet indeed by basically following him all over the pitch and not letting hi pass it where he wanted. Parky did that, he was a hero. Brooker seems more like a full-back to me so I guess he was unlucky not to get that bit of advice whereas Shorey did.

Its just that one bloke on there that thinks that. Trust me the version of Brooker we know is the same one you know. Thankfully he's only cover.

Sounds like he'd just had an inert performance and it's confused them.

Brooker defensive?!?! Surely that would require him to actually tackle someone?

I remember him tackling a player once, it resulted in a penalty and Brooker getting sent off. Bit shit all round that day.

honest its true ! Pasty might be able to verify it, although he may have been buried in a 'finest' pure organic scotch beef 'hambuger' from one of Withdeans world renowned quality caterers

from (very vague) memory he was substituted very soon afterwards . . . .and carted off for counselling no doubt vie Gresham Blake for new pantaloons

anyone remember when he was "tackled" by that squirrel in the pre-season friendly against Leicester

Even Micky Adams after the match said that the squirel was always favourite to win that battle :D :D :D
