Is McGhee a bit of a soft touch ?

Certainly looks that way at the moment. His half time talk must have been pretty fearsome, NOT, sending them out 5 minutes early was just to satisfy the fans with the illusion of " I am a hard man ". The player obviously do not fear or respect him 1 jot and continue to play total shite under his authority.

His body language at the end as he walked off the pitch said I don't really give a shit.

It appears he is a bit of a pussy.

I disagree. I think he IS a hard man - and that's part of the problem at the moment.

The squad has lived a nice comfortable existence for a few years now. They know who the leaders are in training, they have a load of banter, they're happy with each other's strengths and weaknesses.

Now we've got a manager who can see that some players are not as good as they once were. Who can see the gaping hole left by Bobby.

A manager who doesn't neccessarily agree with the views that the players have of themselves. Who wants to shake things up a bit and plan for the future.

It's like when a new boss with new ideas comes the office. Everyone moans and gripes. Some people leave. It will be a painful process but McGhee doesn't seem to me to be the kind of guy to shirk a challenge.

Lush I am venting my spleen on NSC as it is good therapy for me. I am not the most patient or tolerant man in the world and yesterday was the final straw for me !. :shootself

I disagree too. They played much better at the start of the second half (Leon was chasing back for instance instead of just strolling about)... just as the game wore on, the whole team slipped back into their shoddy ways.

He's publically said how bad Jones was. He dragged Rehman off at half time.

I think he makes his point.

It's part of Magoo's master plan as he will continue to let them take the piss and then go to Knight and say I want my boys with me and then he'll get rid of Booker etc.

Have you ever considered a career in wrist slashing? Preferably your own!

I read on another thread he had headbutted Rehman at half time and knocked him out.

After that he threw Mayo through a glass door, smashed Butters over the head with a crowbar (which bent the crowbar) and called Dick Knight a c**t for not giving him more cash to spend.

Then he got nasty....

McGhee played under Alex Ferguson at Aberdeen. His record in management means he must have learnt something from him. I remember Ferguson having a torrid time at Man U when he first went there. Stamping his authority on a comfortable team took time and he was about 90 mins from the sack when Utd struggled to beat lowly Oxford in a cup game.

If McGhee needs time to turn this club around, I hope he gets it because I think it's going to take a while. No money to replace players quickly and lots of players on comfortable contracts.
