Is it ever right NOT to applaud the team off?

Look, blind loyalty is as damaging as constant slagging off ala FG. What message would applauding the players off send ?. You did not turn up, were not at the races, gave nothing = well done.

I am not as tolerant as some on here and to me an applause is a recognition of a job well done. If you went to the theatre and saw a crap play, badly acted would you give a hearty round of applause ?.

I would find it hard to boo but a stony silence with my arms folded would suffice.

Do you give 100% at work every day? How would you feel if your boss stood and booed you in front of your colleagues?

I agree with not clapping enthusiastically when we have been defeated. Just clapping politely gives the same message.

When we have won the enthusiastic and prolonged applause says it all.

I don't think humiliating the team will do their confidence any good. Those who think fans are humiliated by their teams perfomance should grow up. Teams do get beaten (sometimes inexplicably - look at Wolves record against Brighton) and it is all part of the game.

Yorks, I think if you substituted 'Client/Customer' for the word 'boss' then that gets closer to the truth.

True i don't do 100% every day, and my boss knows that + accepts it because my 80/90% is still very good.

Customers/Clients don't think the same, and deserve to see the 'supplier' at least attempting to do 100%, and have a right to ask questions about their 'investment'..

For the record, I don't (ever) leave early and wasn't going to last night (mainly in vain hope that one of my bets might come off) and while I didn't boo' I also wont clap a performance of that nature..

What was there to applaud last night ????

I booed them because they deserved it - they let me down, they let themselves down and they let the club down.

I applaud them when they deserve it - win, lose or daw.

My reaction is entirely in their hands.

and last night's efort was    ::eek:
