arranging a 3 team tournament, to occur later this month, we have one problem- we have noone to referee the games.

Very little. Anyone with even limited knowledge of football can pass without trying. The only hard thing to remember is pitch sizes and goal sizes and how far the 18 yard box is in metres. It can be interesting at times depending on who's taking your course. Basically you talk about football for four or five nights, go to a exam where current ref's answer your questions for you and then you get a certificate and a badge.

Examiner: What would you do if the player plays a through ball along the floor to a team mate that was in an offside position?

Bishop: Book him for not hoofing it!

You've obviously never met me! You never get out of a chair.

Bishop knows so little about football he would be the exception to the rule.
