who doesn't think it makes sense to put gibraltar, san marino , armenia , andorra, faroe islands in a league and let them pre qualify
the problem is they would have to stick wales in with them

Any team that improved enough in the rankings wouldn't have to pre qualify.

Gibraltar don't appear on the FIFA rankings yet!
but they soon will in 209th position

They won't as they are not members of FIFA yet. They are appealing to the Court of Arbitration for Sport against the ruling that FIFA don't allow independent territories to enter their competitions.

It makes me shudder to think that Rooney is likely to pass Charlton as England's leading goalscorer. That urchin will go down in the history books when he has struggled to score against the better teams but is adept at putting them away against the likes of San Marino, Andorra, Montenegro et al. Bobby Charlton never got such an easy ride.

Harrumph!

Thta's a bit harsh, Greaves, for example, only scored one goal in World Cup Finals. Also, some of the cheap teams in those days are now respected international sides. Charlton netted a hat-trick against Luxembourg once, as well as hat-trick v Switzerland in an 8-1 win. Charlton, Greaves and Lineker had buffet matches a plenty.

  • Gibraltar's main stadium, the 5,000 capacity Victoria Stadium, does not meet the Uefa requirements to be able to host competitive international fixtures
  • Consequently, they will play European qualifiers at the Estadio Algarve in Portugal
  • With a capacity of 30,002, the stadium could hold the entire population of Gibraltar

Was in Gibralter today but never saw any adverts about being on TV or whatever. Saw the Victoria Stadium quaint little stadium.

I played there against the national side in 1981, we were a ships team, chosen from only 250 ships company, and we only lost 3-1, and we were winning up till the 80th minute, and then fitness told. Too many pissheads
