I could lend it to them. The Bank must need a new door.

It doesn't fit well with this Government's claim the country is bankrupt. How come we couldn't afford a loan for the Sheffield forgemasters but we can find £7 billion to bail out Ireland? To say we're getting mixed messages from this government is an understatement

I can't remember the figures, but if Ireland 'go under' we are proper screwed, whereas Greece wouldn't really trouble us.

Because we are part of the eu, and we have to help them out by law!

Not really. We're not in the Eurozone. However, Britain does have significant investments in Ireland. We can't afford for them to go bust.

As part of the agreement, the Corrs have agreed not to release any more records here.

They are our biggest trading partner in the EU, and without their countrymen there wouldn't be any holes in this country.

We export more to Ireland than to the Far East.
Also some of our banks like RBS are heavily exposed in Ireland. Letting Ireland go under would be like shooting ourselves in both feet.

There is no word yet whether it is the Real IMF or the Continuity IMF that has bailed Ireland out.

Been watching Have I Got News For You ?

If the RoI had not joined the Euro would they be in such finacial shit, maybe they should have stuck with the Punt at least the could make there own decisions.

Thank f*** we never did or will join it.

Luckily Westlife have requested Irish Positivity. Why not lock them up and then threaten to release them unless the Eu stump up the loan interest free? It would surely work and what government would wish to be the first to blink?

Whilst we are on it; why not threaten to parachute Simon Cowall into Taliban Territory unless they surrender?
