A simple question, maybe.??? But I am in a real quandry. I have been offered the above as upgrades - both on similar, competitive deals with all the usual unlimited free calls etc (I use my phone a lot for work) - but the iPhone comes with 2GB of data and free wifi roaming, whilst the S3 comes with just 1GB.

So what is best? I am not overly geeky, but just use my phone for the basics - internet, calls, games. Use the laptop for work

As I will no doubt be tied into a 2 year contract, I really need to get this decision right - PLEASE HELP NSCers!!!!

iPhones are very easy to use. Both are good phones, I don't think you'd be unhappy with either, my personal preference is iPhone, I find my wife's S3 slightly more "messy".

If you're a tech wiz and want to "mod" your phone and do all sorts with it - choose S3
If you just want a neat, simple phone that works well and is easy to use - choose iPhone

The only major parr I've found with the iPhone is the inability to use flash player and the fact you can't use/ buy memory cards for it so you're stuck with whatever storage space your model comes with. Apart from that I find iPhones more user friendly, better layouts, easier music transfer (apart from the fact you HAVE to use iTunes but as its my personal preference I don't mind tbh) and iPhones just have that "pick up and play" quality which makes them seemingly easier to use. Go with the iPhone.

So they're on a similar deal, the iPhone 5 comes with 2GB of data (and that is a lot!), I think this really is a no brainer question!

This both a great bits of kit, but from your post I'd go Iphone due to ease of use and the fact they will always work like the first day you opened them. Others tend to slow down or become glitchy.

If i was YOU... i'd wait for the samsung galaxy S4. Don't get the S3 now. (I have an S3 and its very good! Iphones are also very good - choose the OS you prefer if your not geeky/techy - simple)

If you want an iPhone i'd check theres not a new one due soon. Apple release shit like no others. New iPads are being released every 6 months now so it wouldnt surprise me if they started doing that with iPhone.

These are very helpful, and definitive answers as far as I am concerned. Many thanks.
I think it will be the iPhone 5

They're both good phones. Usually I'd recommend going with the Samsung as it's cheaper HOWEVER it would appear the extra you'd pay for the iPhone in this instance also gives you more data, which is useful. So basically it depends on whether that extra gigabyte of data is something you'd use and whether it's worth £120 over two years to you.

You haven't said what you're upgrading from either. It's often sensible to stick with what you're used to so you can transfer all your apps and the like

not to put a spanner in the works but I just got a LG Nexus 4 (Google Phone) with unlimited Calls + Texts with 1gb of data and free phone for £26 a month. Worth pondering? Can get the deal as an upgrade on Carphone Warehouse with o2

This may not be relevant, but here goes.

I was stuck with a Sony Experia X10 for two years, and now have an iphone 5. I love my new phone, and I have become an Apple convert over the last year, from getting my ipod classic.

For the ease of use, and their back up, Apple foe me, every time.

I would question the rates with your network supplier. I got an S3, unlimited calls and text. 1Gb of data for £31 per month.

Get an HTC OneX+ .

I chose it over the S3 and don't regret it for a second.
