Just a bit of fun.

If you had to replace the current Government with one which was simply Incompetent or Corrupt, which would you prefer ? No fence sitting

Clearly the incompetent, option.

Because with that there is at least the hope that whilst useless themselves, they might just have the sense to let sensible people advise them, and get SOME things right.

A Government that tries not to join EFTA/EEA but is so incompetent in meeting its aims that it actually joins.

We already have a corrupt government. Incompetent would be more dangerous. Except ours are that too.

corrupt, because you can still address issues and get things done.

taking advise assumes some competance. ministers dont usually know much about the detail of thier portfolio and rely on advise.

Depends what you consider to be incompetent.

They're not incompetent at gaining power, holding on to power purely to make more money for themselves and their billionaire backers (Russians and Saudis). Johnson doesn't give two shits that old Elsie has to ride the bus to stay warm. He just can't wait to remind us that it was a scheme that he introduced (which I believe is also not quite correct).

They are corrupt to the core.

Sorry. That's not a decision I am wiling to make, even for fun. Besides, a corrupt government is always incompetent because they are not there to work for the people.

If I had to, I would select incompetent. There is the “even a stopped clock tells the right time twice a day” effect, meaning that just occasionally the stars would align and a policy would work. And if the intent is good, I’d take that over deliberately being taken for a mug.

With corrupt, the policies (however presented) will be about hoovering up tax money and distributing it to their mates, and the government’s absolute contempt for their voters would quickly become apparent.

It’s worth noting that most governments are incompetent to a degree, it’s depressingly rare that ministers are appointed to departments that match their interests or expertise. Hence the proliferation of SPADs and huge team of Civil Servants around them.

The North stand chat lefties are up to it again, trying to push their political agenda on a forum that should be about football, the club, players, or even local major events, swamping social media and all agreeing with each other in an attempt to get everyone to agree to what they are all agreeing with! It's Like some weird religious cult

its also true all governments are corrupt to a degree, they direct funding to their favored policy, organisations, voter bases. we get a warship built in a particular dockyard, or infrastructure in one region over another, because it benefits the politicans that decide.
