The Beatles at Shea Stadium, Live Aid, Woodstock, Steps at the Brighton Centre...your ultimate gig, even if you wouldn't have been alive to see it originally?

Reckon I'd go for Madonna, Wembley, the sort of Blonde Ambition, late 80s, early 90s tours. All the great music, an awesome live show, and before she got all wrinkly & stringy. I was too young to have appreciated it at the time.

Any advances?

I'd love to have gone to one of the huge Pink Floyd gigs. I saw Australian Pink Floyd at The Brighton Centre last year and that was pretty impressive on its own.

Got to see them at the Top Rank in 86 but this always looks immense to me.

The Pistols at Manchester Free Trade Hall in 1976. Created the big bang which made Manchester one of the centre points of great music for the next two decades.

I'm lucky enough to have seem some amazing bands/musicians including Pink Floyd, The Rolling Stones, The Who, Paul McCartney, James Brown (at his last ever performance), Brian Wilson etc

If I could steal a TARDIS, I'd go and see the Beatles live, and Live Aid just for the Queen set alone. While I was hopping between dimensions I'd like to swing by Elvis' 68 Comeback Special as well! Then I'd jump forward and try and catch Nirvana right at the peak of the 'Nevermind' era.

This - or Joy Division at the height of their powers.

If I could I would travel back in time to see early Genesis gigs, particularly to see them perform "The Lamb Lies Down on Broadway". I'd also go to a 1969 King Crimson gig, and to see Yes do "Tales from Topographic Oceans" live. I'd also like to see some Mozart and Beethoven gigs. First public performance of Beethoven's 9th Symphony would be good.

Marley at the Rainbow. And I was.

Why choose one that you've already been to?

(Mine: One evening in NYC, 1938 - Bennie Goodman, Count Basie, Duke Ellington, Gene Krupa at Carnegie Hall followed by Count Basie/Billie Holiday & Chick Webb/Ella Fitzgerald at the Savoy.)
