I have no idea how - or what - chatrooms are, or how they work, but at the risk of exposing myself to ridicule, is NSC one?

No NSC is a 'message board' - chat rooms involve 'real time' messaging between two or usually more people.

MSN are going to continue their person-to-person messaging, but not the multiple user 'chat rooms'.

With p2p messaging, at least you know someones email address - in a chat room, they can just join in, unsolicited. Or lurk and listen to what you are saying.

Micro$oft are withdrawing it because there is little or no money to be made from it and they are shit-scared of litigation!
