I'm sure El Abd, would have done.

In his absence wasn't Barnes a keeper when younger?

Although it probably should have been Buckley just to give The 'Field a chance.

El Abd wasn't on the bench either. Would Barnes have spilt that shot? Would Barnes have caught some of those crosses? Would we have all been so nervous?

We were only nervous because at half time I got off the sofa and changed radios to do housework.

It was all my fault

It depends if Casper or one of the youth keepers were in the ground I think. I remember about 20 years ago I think, Perry Digweed getting injured in the warm up, up at Millwall if I remember rightly, we had no keeper on the bench at the time, but Mark Beeney travelled up with the squad, so I think Gary Chivers started in goal (I may be wrong, someone can correct me if they like) then after about 10 minutes, Beeney came on to replace Crumps possibly? With Chivers going into defence, after getting special clearance from the officials and Millwall.

May have worked out better.

Brez in goal really reminded me of last year , fearing every time the ball went near him and of course his fault for the goal.

Could of made play offs last year if had Kuzcazk alone

Not sure what the rules are but am pretty sure you can't add to the named squad once handed to the officials. Would Gus have had to get agreement from Grayson to make a change to the named team without it becoming one of the three allowed substitutions?

Yes Gus would have had to, Barry Lloyd had to at the time I mentioned.

Personally Id have no keeper on the bench as they're both liberties and make my bum cheeks sqeek when I see either name so wouldn't have neither on the bench and if Kusack got taken off then Id stick an outfield player in between the sticks. Anyone is better then our two joke of back up keepers.

You are correct, although cannot vouch for Crumps going off or not. (might have been Robinson?)

Thunder Bolt

Silly old bat
Didn't OGH go in goal for us once when the keeper was sent off. Or did I just imagine that?

Almost right. OGH played in goal in a friendly once when Kuipers played in midfield. Dean Wilkins didn't like having a keeper on the bench and was stated at the time that Tommy Fraser could play in goal if Kuipers got injured.

I thought that it was at Charlton but wouldn't argue because I am, not certain but remember it happening. I remember in the days of 1 sub Powney was in goal and we named Burns as a sub due to illness in the club with the view that if an outfield player was injured Burns would have gone in goal and Powney on the field. How many players do we take to a game.

I remembered my old "Seagulls, the story of Brighton and Hove Albion F.C." book, and looked it up in there. It was away at Millwall September 1991, Chivers started in goal, with Football Genius (who was a sub) starting at right back, then Beeney took over from Chivers on 8 minutes, with Chivers going to right back, and Crumps going off. It was the same match as when Beeney punched the Millwall fan who ran onto the pitch and attacked Dean Wilkins.

We asked that very question at the game amongst ourselves and the consensus was that we though Calde would be the "sub keeper"...

too short surely. Who was our biggest (tallest) outfield player yesterday? Hammond? Bridcutt (haha)? and what is Spanish for "push up, push up"?
