In all fairness he was fantastic v man city and scored for us against them when we knocked them out... He is just one of those players who performs in the big games but still, according to a couple of palace mates, goes missing in league games and is just as frustrating now as he was for us.

Four good matches don't make a player of the season and whilst there was no denying his talents, you need to weigh up how many goals are set up on a plate for him which I why I reiterate as I've done on other threads that Bennett is missed more than Murray and that CMS is a far better all round player.

People who refer to goals when talking about why Murray ISN'T great are THICK. He is SO SO SO SO SO much more than goals. Very small part of an excellent all round game.

He's got FAR more to his game than CMS. Many more attributes. It is unquestionably Gus's biggest mistake to date as a manager.

There is no one better at controlling a ball with his back to goal, holding off a defender and then winning a freekick or setting up an attack. He showed this over and over again last night. Looked like a seasoned Premiership striker.
