Idea With Falmer

I know this has probably been said before but it's just a idea so the club has some power in local politics if we don't get Falmer.
Even though the final say goes to Prescott could something not be done along the lines of what Charlton did in the VOTE VALLEY
campaign?
Charlton fans set up a local political party with the sole aim of talking away votes from the other party's so that MP's had to listen for fear of losing their vote.
Hope you all understand where I'm coming from?
The VOTE VALLEY party non longer are around as they won their fight to return home.
Yes it would take alot of effort and time but I really think the chances of us getting Falmer are looking slim even before today's
news.:falmer: :rescott:

What news? A sad tory MP wanted to try and win a few more votes? Hardly news imo.

The seaside.
It's a very different situation. The Valley Party stood in local elections rather than national, and it wasn't MPs or particular parties they were up against but Greenwich councillors (who had recently rejected planning permission for the club's return to the Valley). Consequently, Valley Party candidates stood in 60 of the 62 wards (leaving the two councillors who had voted in favour of the Valley alone) and took enough votes to cause a couple of sitting councillors, including the head of the planning committee, to lose their seats. In the case of Falmer, as I understand it the local council and the city's three MPs all support the stadium proposal anyway, so there is no-one at a local level to stand against. Although the next elections to Lewes District Council might be interesting...

fataddick is spot on. As things stand I would never vote for a Seagulls Party in my Brighton Ward/Constituency as my Councillors and MP are pro-Falmer. It's NOT Brighton Council or the three MPs who are our opponents, I don't see what else they could have done and they all deserve our support.

Outside Brighton though it's a different story. As fataddick says there may be mileage for a Seagulls Party in Lewes but I'd still prefer to pick pro-Falmer candidates (and I'm not fussed as to which party but that's another debate) and thrown our weight behind them.
