In the absence of a dedicated song for Barnesy, I had this running through my mind over the last day or 2.

Would welcome the great & the good of NSC to consider whether it should still stay locked in my mind, never to see the light of day OR whether it could catch on?

It's over to you, my fellow Albionites! :bigwave:

To the tune of "Lord of the Dance".....

Barnesy
Score a goal for me
You're our number 9 from the West Country
If you score 1, you could get 2 or 3
or at least share the goals with Glenn Murray

At Plymouth it was simply

"We've got Ashley Barnes
We've got Ashley Barnes
We've got Ashley
We've got Ashley
We've got Ashley Barnes"

Which I think he rather enjoyed, against his old team.

Cheers Spank, on the definition of leniency we disagree then.

As this was based on a long & established football song, with the words being re-worked, I felt it may have some legs. Obviously things have moved on from the days when songs such as "OGH" & "When I was just a little Boy" first emerged when.

Perhaps some people nowadays can only handle words of less than 2 syllables in a 2 line rhyming couplet?

I blame Lady Ga Ga......Ga Ga, Ga Ga Gaaa, Ra Ra, Ra Ra Raa....and all that tripe.

No wonder people struggle to sing GOSBTS at the right pace.
