Not downhearted at all when you think of the crap we had with Slade we look so much better and more positive now after the shit like Stockport at home.
4-5-1 has stemmed the goals conceded however next season we will be back with 4-4-2.

Was impressed with Diego tonight and Ashley Barnes who looks just the type of player we need.

Onwards and upwards

Why do you think we will revert to 4-4-2 ? This system seems to work for us ...tonight was more 4-3-3 ,and i think that is the way it will stay !

4-5-1 was solely to get us out of trouble, face facts I doubt Lua Lua will be with us next year

It's a great result and expectation will rise for next season, so we need too get off to a flyer, i have every confidence that we will.

if we keep lua lua, 4-5-1 will DEFINATELY continue.
and hes not a prem player,so with newcastle going up i'd say theres a good chance we could get him

quality result tonight, even if we maybe deserved better.a result like this after the first few games this season would have been the best thing since..anything

I just think he came here and we were still struggling so he built up a solid defence to stop all the goals we conceded which has worked as we were -13 at one point but now down to -4 and picking up points.

Bit like a plumber stopped the leak and next step is to create with two forwards.

I just have a gut feeling we were dire and leaking goals and 4-5-1 was they way to stop this and it worked.

We will move on to 4-4-2 once we have the right players to do it.

Hope big time we can get him though.

For me, when he came on, it seemed to lift us out of a part of the game when they were bullying us and our heads were down.

Haven't seen that sort of pace down these parts since Ballyregan Bob.

Not disappointed with a draw! a draw is acceptable if it is decided by the 70th minute of a game.
It's just a big pisser when the last goal is conceded in the last couple of minutes, only had to hang on a bit longer then 3 points, that's where the disappointment comes in.

Why do people keep banging on about 4-4-2 ?

So what if we are playing with a loan striker?

We are creating plenty of chances, playing lovely passing football and getting results.

We look very solid and if Poyet sees this as the main system for next season then so be it.

I simply don't get the reason to moan about our current formation.

What is it with Lua Lua, dont get me wrong, he is an exciting player who can create a rabbit out of a hat however what were our last three games without him. 3 wins...8 scored...0 conceded. We dont need to become a 1 man team. Last night he did run them scared but on more than 4 occassions he kept the ball far too long and ran into trouble when a simple pass could have led to a goal scoring opportunity. I would be happy to keep him but the one reason we are playing so well at the moment is we are a TEAM.

Reading got to the prem playing 4-5-1. I think it works perfectly, especially as midfielders is an area where we have a few players, especially if we can snap up Lua Lua

Agreed.

Kazenga's end product is not great.

If he had the blistering pace AND the end product, he would probably not be playing at this level.

Why do people keep banging on about 4-4-2 ?

Because we're English, and English fans feel 4-4-2 is the only way to play the game. Any time you play any other formation and lose, it's the formation's fault. It's ingrained in the psyche of the English football fan.
