Albion boss Chris Hughton has put the heat on his old club Norwich by hinting they should be promoted back to the Premier League.
He believes today’s visitors to the Amex have the best squad in the Championship and are favourites to grab an automatic spot.
Norwich are currently fourth, two points outside the top two.
Hughton, sacked by Norwich a year ago, told The Argus: “I think they have the best squad in the division.
“They are the team in the best form and probably at this moment they are the favourites to get automatic promotion. They have never made any secret of the fact that that’s their ambition.
“Credit to the club. I think they showed their ambition with the players they brought in during the summer to go back to the Premier League first time around. You have to applaud them for that. At this moment they are on course.”
“I hope it’s a good reception but far more important than that is the reaction the supporters give to our team and hopefully the performance our team can give for what will be a very tough game.”
Hughton is mulling over whether to hand Lewis Dunk his 100th career start after a two-match ban or stick with Greg Halford at centre-half with his Albion side, ten points clear of the drop zone, embarking on clashes against the top four in their remaining seven games.
He said: “They are the tough decisions you need to make but want to make, because it means people are really pushing for places and the competition is good.
“You want to play against the best teams and you want your players to be judged against the best teams.
“You’d like to think they enjoy every game they play in but there is always maybe that little different feel when you are playing the better teams in the division.
“The four games we have against the top four are games very much to look forward to and not to fear.”
