Albion boss Chris Hughton has demanded a reaction to the run of defeats at Blackburn Rovers today to put the promotion bid back on track.
The Seagulls have lost their last four games in the Championship and FA Cup.
They have not suffered five defeats in succession since April 2007.
Hughton, peeved by his team’s lacklustre first half performance at Rotherham on Tuesday, told The Argus: “What we will certainly be after is a reaction.
“We are on the back of a few defeats now. You are always looking at the players and seeing how they will react.
“Certainly I’ve got a group of lads that I think will react and respond in the right way but it is another tough game.”
Hughton has warned too much should not be expected too soon of Kazenga LuaLua to spark a recovery.
The explosive left-winger has made two substitute appearances after four months sidelined with groin trouble, which punctured his flying start to the season.
