Albion duo Aaron Hughes and Paddy McCourt helped Northern Ireland go top of their Euro 2016 qualifying group tonight.
But Michael O’Neill’s side failed to really impress in final hour of their 2-0 home win over the Faroe Islands.
Defender Hughes played the full game at Windsor Park and was comfortable at the back.
Both goals had been scored by the time McCourt joined the game midway through the second half as a substitute.
McCourt’s introduction was popular with a sell-out crowd of about 10,000 and he produced a few creative touches before the game fizzled out.
Albion skipper Gordon Greer was an unused sub as Scotland beat Georgia 1-0 at Ibrox.
Christian Walton played in goal for England under-20s as they enjoyed a superb 3-2 win over hosts Holland in a four-team tournament being staged in Heerenveen.
