They are going to build a giant horse for £2m in north Kent as an answer to the Geordie's Angel of the North

Radio 4 news went out a did a vox pop with the locals.
I'm just guessing that the speaker wore a burberry cap and Gillingham scarf round his wrist when he said:
"Nah, we don wan it, it's a sore eye"

Remind anyone of the Indiana Jones toy horse? If you don't remember this from the earl 80's you may recognise the Action Man horse. Can't find a great picture of it, but it's about as artistic as the thing they want to build in Kent

Hahaha I saw this on BBC TV this morning - it looks terrible! Don't mind the idea of a giant piece of art but this is just going to be silly.

Also, people moaning abut the £2m cost should get a grip - it would be a sad day indeed if we had to scrap all money towards 'culture' or 'the arts', or trying to make Britain look nice. £2m is a drop in the ocean in the grand scheme of things and the "you could build a hospital with that" argument doesn't work - you'd have a long job sorting out what's more important! The thing sucks though.

thats brilliant. We can stave off rising unemployment by building giant horses across Kent. Soon the entire nation will be mobilised to create a giant toy farm the size of Britain as a tourist attraction that will save us from financial meltdown.

I think it is quite cool though, why not? That part of Kent is f***ing depressing. Perhaps we could use its belly to keep in all the illegals found wandering up the hard shoulder of the A2 in as well. Like some sort of mad trojan horse for the UK Border Agency.

I see greater potential if it were constructed as a giant game of buckeroo. Occasionally a caravan, satellite dish or other piece of paraphernalia critical to the local lifestyle could be attached until it BUCK-A-ROOS, showering its bounty across the medway towns.

Far too much public money is spent on the Arts especially when a lot of it interests a small minority.

I think you will find it is definitely a horse and a prancing horse at that. Not sure why they have decided to just have a horse standing and looking vacant than a proper prancing "Invicta".
