Hart Reid Nicolas Jones

          Molango Jarrett

Kuipers did nothing wrong so don't read much into that.

Butters is too slow. With him the defence have to sit deep or they'll be caught out. Harding isn't up to it.

We need Hart/Jones's expirience. Currie/Jarrett are not part of a 'team' yet. No shape at all.

We desperatly need a big striker.

Not El-Abd. Too prone to errors. I'd play Hinshelwood there. We don't want El-Abd getting like Harding.

Jones and Hart on the wings. Jarrett hasn't convinced me yet.

I'd play JR from the start with Molango.

I'd agree with Turkeys team though I might put Jarrett on the left and put Robinson up front.

El ebd Cullip Butters

Hart Jones

Reid Nicolas Jarrett

Molango Robinson

Hart can get up and down the line easily, and will track back well to defend. jonah and jarrett would link up well, and jonah also tracks back well. El ebd may not be the tallest but is strong. if not him, then maybe virgo. ~This is supposed to be 3-5-2 with hart/jones as wingbacks but i cant change it so it displays like it!

Reid could also swap for hart and currie comes in perhaps.

I think what IS clear is that before you even look at the personnel, you have to get the shape of the team right - and McGhee blew that completely out of the water by playing 5 across the middle, with a left-back in central midfield.

Square pegs in round holes DO. NOT. WORK.

As Turkeys team and some of the others on this thread have shown, we DID have options to fit into a straight 4-4-2, where everyone knows their position and their role. Instead, what we had tonight was a disastrous hotchpotch of players in an unfamiliar formation, with Molango totally isolated in front of a badly misfiring midfield.

I sincerely hope tonight was just a one-off experiment by McGhee, and he brings back some sanity on Saturday - because if thats what Plymouth can do to us under those circumstances, then Coventry will absolutely rip us to shreds.

McGhee left Hart out on Saturday because he isn't a striker. I don't think Jarrett is either.

Neither do I. I don't see any better options personally. Jarrett/Hart/Robinson. Don't think it makes much difference.

Doesn't the suspensions now start immediately with the next game?

if so

Roberts

El Abd
Cullip
Virgo
Butters
Mayo

Currie
Reid
Nicholas
Jarrett

Molango

With El Abd and Mayo attacking as wingbacks thus allowing Currie and Jarret to push forward to become the 2nd striker depending on which side of the park the play is

Absolutely not. Robinson will hardly get a look in. If Hart's to play it ought to be up front where his strength at least may be enough of a distraction to give Molango a chance. Keep Currie in.

Ben's Grandad's 5-4-1 looks good to me (although a case for Hinshelwood in there, with Virgo staying on the right)

Well I've changed my mind, as always.

Code:
                  Roberts

El-Abd Cullip Virgo Jones

     Hart Nicolas Mayo
Currie Jarrett
               Molango

Hart to replace Reid as Hart can support right back.

Mayo in midfield as we need a defencive, left footed, midfielder.

Jones at left back for his pace and lack of alternatives.

      Hinshelwood Nicolas Reid
Jarrett Jonah
                       Molango

I would bring in El Abd for the out-of-form Virgo.

I would drop Currie, not because he hasn't a future with us, but he's wasted in a 4-5-1. With that system, you need your wide players to have the pace to support the lone attacker, both Jarrett and Jonah have that, Currie does not, too often tonight he was trapped on his wing looking for a pass that wasn't there, we need something more individually creative than that who can beat his marker. Although Jarrett is left-winger, he can also play on the right if you study your match programme tonight.

If we were on top, I would also be looking for Hinshelwood to press forward to support Molango in the manner of his excellent goal at Cambridge.

Hart up front with Molango. He was an inspiration when he came on as striker in the home playoff game against Swindon. He holds the ball up well and, considering his height, gets up very well to high balls.
Jake did very little when he came on last night. In fact I don't think he touched the ball for the first 15 minutes!

Last night I would have played

Code:
                Kuipers

Virgo Cullip Butters Harding

Hart Reid Nicolas Jarett

          Molango Robinson

In future I would play

Code:
                Roberts

Virgo Cullip Butters Harding

Hart Chippy Nicolas Jarett

          Knight Molango
