They've just announced (10:32pm) that Reading "under the charge of former Brighton manager Steve Coppell for the first time have drawn 1-1 with Gillingham tonight."

And exactly WHY are you telling us?

Well, I've seen many a post on here complaining about their coverage but, having endured the Anglia region for too many years, I actually thought they did okay down here.

But they are shite and, as Yorkie says, they missed Sidwell's goal and Coppell's winning start into the bargain.

On the Tun Wells version they said Reading manager Steve Coppell got off to a solid start with a 0-0 draw.

I said nothing about Coppout

I looked as I was hoping Gillingham had won :lolol:

At least BBC South East cover the Gillingham area.

In fact, with only two league clubs in their area - Gillingham and the Albion - their football coverage is generally far superior to whatever BBC South get up to. They also provide Brighton news - which is curious, since no-one in Brighton watches BBC South East.

on the southen station it said ,coppell was still looking for reading because it was such a piss pot little town he had driven right past it and is lost somewhere up north?

I'm surprised and delighted to hear that Reading even got a mention on BBC South. Actually getting the final score right is a bit too much to expect of those south coast-biased tossers in Southampton.

So we get 30 seconds on BBC London, and 30 seconds on BBC South. We are regionless :clap2:

I hereby declare our area BBC Reading. The place in its own world.

And a classic post script this morning...

BBC South's news bulletin at 6:30 this morning was STILL reporting the game as finishing at 1-1.

The main BBC sports news straight afterwards had all three goals from the game:dunce:
