How many of our current squad would be comfortable in a play off pushing team ?

Sussex
Murray
Forster (this year , but next ?)
Bennett
McNulty I think could but has not been good the last few games
Dicker if he can stop giving the ball away so often

Without the rose tinted glasses on it is difficult to pick many and just goes to show what a massive job it will be in the summer. To make this job easier we should really only be getting players in that are good enough for a promotion push next season

I would add Kuipers.

I have not seen either of the two new full backs play yet - are they good enough (assuming they extend their stay)?

I would probably add Crofts now too - you always need an character like that, even if not the most skillful, the drive and committment are essential (Oatway style)

The vast majority of the squad would be comfortable in a play-off pushing team.

Man-for-man, I would say our squad now is better than that the one that pushed for promotion (and finished 7th) under Wilkins.

In my opinion the full backs are good enough. Calderon is brilliant in attack, but I worry about occasional defensive lapses. Painter seemed a bit rusty at Walsall but his no-frills style seemed to be a calming influence.

If this is true, we have a goalkeeper, at least 2 of the back 4, possibly more if Elphick develops during this season, maybe 2 or 3 of the midfield and probably 1 or 2 strikers. Not a bad backbone to build on, we just need to add real quality to this.

NOT Kuipers - unable to command his 6 yard line and poor distribution- shot stopping alone is never enough

Yes to Murray, Forster, Crofts, Dicker, Calderon, Painter, Tunnicliffe edit and Bennett

And Dickinson of course (just in case his mum is reading this)...

lol - his mum doesnt care what is being written about him good or bad as long as its constructive critisism and not just a blatent slagging off. I mean would you like your kids slagged off personally cos i know i wouldnt.

Nobody mentioning Cox ?
I got the impression from some the other day that he was a shoe-in if we were serious about playoffs next season.

on recent form none of them as the league says. When on form Murray, Bennett and possibly Forster (if his legs still going strong next season). Apart from that I have yet to see anyone in our current squad who would 'comfortably' fit into a play off or higher team
