Happy with a slice of toast (providing it's not mouldy) and it can often get to 4pm before I realise I've forgotten lunch sometimes in the week.

Food just doesn't bother me at all. Sleep on the other hand - if I don't get 8/9 hours then I can struggle physically the next day.
Maybe you struggle physically because you only eat a slice of toast each day 😉

I enjoy Sainsbury's mango (must be extremely fresh) and multiple bananas. Love pineapple as well and fresh orange juice.

As for a hot meal (excluding toast) , it must be weeks since I had one.

Nah, it's sleep required. I'm generally grouchy early in the mornings. Haven't had a cold for over a year now. *touch wood*

Will eat most stuff but not the highly processed shit that it seems the nation would starve without

There used to be a Chinese Restaurant in Preston Street called "Good Friends" that had a separate Chinese menu. I went with a friend a long time ago: chicken feet, boiled pig intestines & fish lips were the mainstay. It was "interesting" and the chef (who spoke no english) came out to shake our hands

Ah that reminds me of more of the eating dare competition with the Palace fan when we were living and working in Taipei. It culminated in Snake Alley with snake sperm (and snake blood) in fire water (as I said earlier on the thread) but both chicken feet and pig intestine featured in earlier rounds as did pig ear and "stinky" tofu (which is a Taiwanese delicacy that smells like shit but doesn't taste that bad). On reflection it would take another eating dare for me to go near almost any of those things again with the exception of the pig ear that crisped up beautifully.

I'm reminded of both the ear and the feet whenever I go and get treats for the dog. And dogs are really feral. Mine once ate horseshit, threw it up again and ate the sick.

Only thing wrong with Sussex is lack of decent (i.e horrid based) food such as freshly made black puddings.

Oh and when did I last espy a proper Steak and Kidney Pudding? A tower of meaty loveliness with small but not insignificant amount of proper gravy dribbled over the top, surrounded by mushy peas and proper chips. Could eat one every day.

Ah yes I forgot the pig ear, not my favourite on the menu tbh

Because he'd been trying to get rid of that stuff from the back of the fridge...for months!

In France, tete de veau was fine, followed with proper earthy steak tartare. I was never a fan of Andouillette though. Tripe in Vienna, tick all good. Jelly fish in Bangkok looked and tasted like a plastic carrier bag

I went there a few times and have ordered off the Chinese menu. Can't say I tried the fish lips but chicken feet are great (I often cook them at home) and I don't mind an intestine or two.

And, for anyone else who has been to Japan, Natto. Natto is revolting.

I just find natto weird. I mean, it's not disgusting but it doesn't taste good either. It has a flavour profile that I just can't eat my head around. Will definitely try it again though; eventually enough taste buds will have died that it'll taste good

Tete de veau

I imagine @Herr Tubthumper is a fan though having seen some of his dishes on the European tour

I would pay NOT to have to eat it
If that's the one where you bash the skull of the animal on a heavy metal plate and then eat everything that drops out, I've had that in Millau, France. Little town under the famous bridge over the River Tarn. Bloody delicious , just don't think too hard about what you're enjoying.

Indeed. A nob of butter, a dash of paprika, rolled in foil and popped in the air fryer for 10 minutes. Sensational.

I was in Provence the other week and at a butcher's stall in one of those poncey markets peopled mainly by shuffling elderly Belgians. They had Andoulette "sans tete". I asked my mate WTF was Andoulette if it didn't contain head and he basically said all the other disgusting bits of an animal.

I too used to go to Good Friends with mates who'd order off the Chinese menu, but I only ever tried the fish lips. I expected them to be chubbier.
