OK, it's a bit embarrassing to not know... but then again, he stopped being Albion manager years before I was born.

So... how do you pronounce 'Saward' as in Pat Saward?
Is it Saw-wood?
Saw-ward?
Say-ward?
Say-wood?
Sa-ward?
Sa-wood?

Oooo.... thanks for the answers. So it's either Say-wood or Say-ward?

It was more of a Say-werd.

The last bit did not really sound like a fully pronounced ward or wood or word.
Yeah, it's a bit hard to explain, sort of 'Say-wd' with the second syllable 'bitten off'.. Which I suppose sounds like 'wood', but it wasn't pronounced as 'say-wood', i.e. as two distinct words.

There. I'm sure that's cleared it up.

I go for Say-ward but, now you mention it, wood & word/werd would not have sounded wrong. I think it's the 'say' that's important.

Thanks for the suggestions on Saywd or Sayward!

To Frutos, I guess some people may pronounce Mario as Mair-rio. The fools!
