Flats to rent London, jobs in London, flatshare, free classified ads UK is fairly good.

Ignore the London bit. You can navigate your way round it and advertise under the Brighton section. Obviously you may need another outlet for the advert. fish4 - new & used cars - job search UK - property for sale & lettings - Not sure if that is free though.

Gumtree I have heard good reports about. I have had a spare room but have never wanted to share with a stranger. Luckily got a mate moving in Saturday.
