About 20 years ago I witnessed it take alight one morning on the way to work. Started in a kitchen vent and it then wrecked the hote.

Very, very few times do Fire & Rescue Services respond to 'cat up a tree' calls. Invariably, such calls are passed to the RSPCA or similar. They may choose to respond, and very occasionally may ask the fire service for assistance.
Most cats 'stuck' up trees get themselves down when hungry enough.
