I'd have liked to have cheered on AFC Wimbledon at Horsham and Burgess Hill but I'll be at Wigan & Rotherham. I doubt I'd have got in though, anyway, as AFC have such a large away following. Up the Real Wimbledon!
Isthmian League Division One club AFC Wimbledon have formed a ground-breaking alliance with Premiership new-boys Crystal Palace.
The link-up could see the Dons take Palace's young stars on loan with the option of snapping them up permanently.
It's all down to boss Dave Anderson's friend-ship with Palace manager Iain Dowie and his brother Bob, currently the Eagles' director of football, who he worked with at non-League level.
As part of the tie-up, highly-rated coach Bob Dowie will take some AFC Wimbledon training sessions, while new Dons’ keeper Danny Naisbitt could train one day a week with the Eagles.
Iain Dowie said: "It's important young lads play men's football as it certainly toughens them up. Also, a lot of lads come out of pro football into non-League and back in again. It's a good thing for us and AFC is a decent club
