So a few people having a pop at Barnes after yeasterday which I won't join in with.

For a player who can look a little unorthadox at time the ball seems to stick with him and he can create a chance out of nothing, maybe he just needs to work on his finishing when set up in a prime position.

Now compare this to Chris Holroyd who never really got into that position with us yet ( as Gus said this was largley down to the way we are set up to play )

But I have to say some of those finishes he put away against Hereford were fantastic and show the lad does have real potential.

If he carries on going well I for one would be happy to asee him back and given another chance.

This is right and probably why Holroyd and Dickinson never found the net at all/regularly...

How often does one of our players have the ball around our opponents six yard box? Not very often I'd say, but now with Barnes playing as an out and out centre forward, this is being remedied, but with the proviso that he needs to bang in more of the opportunities...

We are going in the right direction and next week I think Bournemouth are going to be on the end of the drubbing we have been threatening to dish out

If Barnes was putting a higher percentage of his chances away then these threads would not surface. He is doing ok but he needs to get sharper in front of goal or our undoing will undoubtably be the fact that we will let too many points slip away because we are not clinical enough when on top, as was the case yesterday. All the time that happens debate will rage on here about our strikers and their shortcomings. But as I say Barnes is playing alright but I still think Poyet will ring the changes by bringing someone in at the next opportunity to partner Murray up front and give us a more dangerous front pairing, and because of our league position I genuinly believe Bloom will part with some real funds for Gus to do so if it means staying at the top of this division.
P`boro`s front 2 have 16 between them this season and Boyd (how no one from a bigger club have not fancied him is beyond me ) has also chipped in with 5.
Barnes is still very young and cost us next to nothing so he can carry on learning his trade but he will be very much under the microscope because of our good start this season.

Holdroyd is the same as Jake Robinson. Both need a run of games and the confidence of their manager. But without this they cant make a difference, both are confidence players.

No offence, but I watched the goals and frankly my granny could have scored with that much space. He wouldn't have scored those in League One!
