It was reported in the press that Denis Wise was on £4k at Southampton so perhaps that is the going rate for our division I do not know just speculation and a possible thought.

Assuming that's true (hmmm), if he wants first team football down here, he's going to have to re-think his ideas a bit. In the real world, we don't pay players £4,000 per week.

Unless their name is Leon Knight!!!

yeah, get a grip- if we were paying knight 4k then why is it outrageous we'd pay henderson this much?

seems a fair price to me.

Sheffield United have a basic wage of £110,000 a year, anything else is performance related.

We cannot afford to pay Henderson that amount, and he is not worth it to be honest

Our local rag said Dennis Wise was on £4,500 pw too, and I know the majority of the Southampton squad had to take 50% pay cuts on relegation so I suppose thats about the average wage. Its still a lot of money though. I know Gillingham were paying a few of their players £4/5k pw for years off the back of that ITV digital deal that went bust up until they got relegated, how they did it god knows but they club are paying for it now though.

Better to stick with FDM & The Frog, and spend the money in our weak areas. A striker who can score goals may be a good start! ???

It was in a national 'rag' that said Denis Wise was on £4k per week but then last week when Onandi Lowe was found not guilty of the drug offences his defence said that he played for Coventry and didnt need to earn money selling drugs as he was earning £4,500 per MONTH, perhaps they were wrong and it was per week also.

You'll never know the truth when it comes to players wages though. The papers talk crap, agents talk crap and even players!!

The average wage is £200k but misleading. You will get teams such as Palace, with a player on £25k a week amd other "premiership" earners pushing up the average heavily.

£4k??? That is a lot considering he has played so few games. If it is true of course!

4000 per week is the average wage for this division so its fair enough, though it would obviously be above average here

It maybe average for this division but every club has its own budget, not every club can afford to pay all their players anything like that kind of salary.

No but all new Albion signings are requesting a travel allowance as part of their contract, as return travel on the team coach can no longer be guaranteed.
