I am experiencing problems with my Laptop running excel. Each time I enter information it's fine for about five or six lines and then it keeps freezing and coming up with compatibilty mode (not responding) it then gives me three options, Restart, close or wait for response. If I click wait it takes an age and nothing happens, if I close it I loose all the new info entered, if I restart I also loose the info. It's doing my head in Grrrrrrrrrrrr. Please if there are any suggestions from you computer Teccy guy's then I would be most grateful for your help. Cheers. TT.

what version of excel, what are you trying to open

is it linked to any other data sources

its probably not an excel problem

I was using the latest verison with Vista, I have saved it 97-03 format to send to colleagues. It keeps crashing, by the way my laptop is brand new.

Latest versions tend not to work when sent to someone running an older version.

Have you got the installation CD for this version of Excel/office?

I'd probably uninstall the whole package and then re-install from scratch if you can.
