Microsoft announced last week will phase out Skype from May 2025

I’ve been using this for many years to communicate with a disabled relative with severe speech aphasia and close to zero IT skills.

The big advantage of Skype is the auto-answer feature from accepted contacts, ie we call them and the audio / video is automatically turned ON. Just leave PC ON, dead simple

Seems not possible on Teams, does anyone have any alternative suggestions, ideally that will run in a Windows environment ...

If your relative has an Android phone then you can use the MS Phone app in Windows or if they have an iPhone then FaceTime. Both have auto answer.

Jabra (and probably other brand) headsets can answer Teams calls when you rotate the microphone arm down (i.e. going from 'headphones' mode to 'headset' mode). Could be a workaround?
