Early pregnancy with my son.

I had to dive off the bus as somebody struck a match to light a cigarette. The smell of the sulphur in the match made me heave.
I was sick into the hedges.

I then had to wait an hour for the next bus

I remember someone else chucking up on the school coach. It ran down the isle like a river and caused a chain reaction of making someone else sick. Needless to say we vacated the vehicle quickly but carefully.

Actually not in a long while but I seem to remember (vaguely) throwing up at the Lewes Road/London Road junction following a rather silly drinking game at the Revolution (anybody remember that ?) circa 1974.

Several times. I've had a gastric virus a couple of times (something I wouldn't wish on anyone).

I threw up outside Buck House one evening and collapsed, but the coppers wouldn't let me sit in a chair inside the grounds while we waited for an ambulance. Royalist bastards.

Coming back on the Newhaven - Dieppe ferry once . It was a terrible day, with waves at least 10ft high. So many people were sea sick that we were stuck in the 'lounge' with gallons of vomit sloshing around our feet as the boat pitched and rolled its way back .

Terrible scenes.....

In my youth we used to visit my grandparents in North Wales. In the days before motorways it was an 8-10 hour drive.

*younger readers switch off here* does anyone remember the drive to and across London in the 60's. The flamin roundabouts in Crawley, interminable South London, the toilets near Croydon Airport, Kew Bridge it was all an absolute nightmare. It must have taken three hours to get to the other side of London.

Anyway, my sister used to get travel sickness. On one memorable journey we set out early going up the Falmer Road, we had all had marzine (?) tablets to prevent travel sickness, and my sister threw up before we even got as far as our nearest bus-stop. That journey is etched in my memory.

To top it all, as a result of throwing up - she got to sit in the front.

Who said life was fair.

When I was living just off the Lewes Road, I had an upset stomache so decided not to go to work. I was well enough to go to the cricket at Hove though.

Before I left my house I deciuded to have a Muller Crunch Corner for Breakfeast, you know the one with the rice crispy bits coated in chocolate.

Anyway no sooner had I left my front door and got to the bus stop when the contents of my stomache were all over the pavement. Very messy, but at least the seagulls had something to eat.

One christmas I was sitting on the living room floor, was sick fo absolutely no reason, and tried to swallow it to save the lovely carpet. Resulting in choking. I couldnt breathe and started to panic, took someone shaking me upside down in very vigourous stylee until my airway was cleared. Very scary thought I was gonna die, should have just gone for the full carpet pizza and I would have been ok.
Lesson to be learned - never swallow your sick!

I was 11 and on a school day trip to France. We went out there on a nice sunny day and came back in a Storm Force wind with lashing rain. On a boat that had seen service at Dunkirk. I'd done that boat trip a lot as a kid and was never, ever, sick no matter how rough the sea but this time, for some strange reason I took a sea-sick pill because the teachers were handing 'em out like recreational substances. The result being I felt bad all the way back and, with the lights of Newhaven clearly in view threw up mightily and publicly all over the deck. I was so surprised I said "I've been sick!" to which someone on the Upper Deck said "Do you want a medal for it?". Luckily we were ON the deck. Because inside, the boat had turned into a vessel of vomit.

The day trip to France is a recurring theme. Did they only give tickets to schools when they knew the weather was going to be awful. I was about 11 as well, there was thick fog on the way back and the boat stopped somewhere in the channel. It was pitching and rolling and you could hardly walk. All I remember was kids being left to thier own devices to throw up where they could.

Another time I was in Cannes and our friend invited us fishing with his father and friends. We went out in a small boat and my hat flew off. After about an hour of few fish we had lunch ...... fish sandwiches. I chundered and the others were delighted as they said it attracted the fish.
