Having both sandaza and chris wood last season who looked average last season but did barely anything for us when we were storming the division.

Now look at them banging them in for teams in a higher division.
Surely they would both have Done a better job than billy 'barn door' paynter!

Erm ...think you'll find Wood did a very good job for us. Not sure why we didn't go for him ... assumed it was either a money thing or Gus didn't see him fitting in his plans

Sandaza wouldn't cut it at this level ... Paynter doesn't either and sure Gus will bring someone in that will

Wood is exactly what we need right now. Can't blame Gus for looking elsewhere because it's not as if he was incredible for us, but not going for him is looking to be a bit of a mistake.

Sandaza is playing in a division that is equivalent to the Conference South with 2 mid-table Championship sides thrown in. He was truly shite.

Looking at the DVDs from last season Wood seemed to be involved in a lot of our goals when he was playing and there were a few quality finishes. Sandaza was a bit-part player who bagged a few late goals as an occasional sub - when he did get to start he didn't look capable of playing for more than about 20 minutes. I'd gladly have Wood back but to Fran I'd say 'thanks for the memories - have fun in the MTL'

For me, last season when Wood was with Murray he looked OK, same can be said for Barnes.

However when Murray wasn't playing we had nothing up front with Wood and Barnes. So my conclusion was they are both able support strikers but can't cut it as the main striker.
