Actually got up in time to catch 'The Championship' this morning.
Got to say I think the set-up works really well. Alright, Andy Towsend isn't the most charismatic presenter, but then nor is Gary Lineker. He does enough though, and there's no cringe-worthy studio action with Robbie Earle and John Barnes. Ally McCoist is a natural in front of the camera and the thing of going round the grounds wil appeal to all supporters.
The only criticism is that I wouldn't be very happy if I followed a Division 2 or 3 side, given that they showed about five goals from all the fixtures. Fans of lower league teams have to wait until 11:30 on Thursday night to see all their goals. Surely it wouldn't harm ITV to make the Sunday show an hour long and feature all the goals.
It's still no 'Match of the Day' (LOVING the feature where they go to the ground from outer space, by the way), but they're getting there. Eventually.
