Glue sniffers of the world unite.

Give me a decent Cognac over any super strength beer anyday.

and Harveys is made out of sewage farm water,

Normally I`d agree but this being an award winner at the worlds 2010 speciality beers table and all that.

By 'eck.... how many do you have left ? just cleaned the Belgians and their cellar this morning and was rather pleased to still find 10 Westies left, I'm thinking of having a weekend session with Mrs Vegster who's thirst for knowledge is matched by her new found thirst for Belgians.

Since the Amex has opened I have tried to get a DARK/HEAVY beer to be sold in the bars...Dicks bar and 1901,have spoken to Dick Knight,Martin Perry,Paul Rogers, both bar managers, explained that not everybody is a lagerwater drinker,I understand that Guinness takes a long time to pour, what about Murphys...if a club like Bournemouth can sell it,why can't we,don't have to have pumps installed, one excuse that they gave was getting a order from other suppliers.Seeing that we already are supplied by Harvey s that should not be a problem. Anyway...is it good? Will try one as soon as possible.

Those monks do my head in. It took me 2 days to get through last time to order it up. Vow of silence is all right but not when they are supposed to be answering the bloody beer phone.

They had the 'Old' on before the Palace game. It was really nice. Not a fan of their best though.

Not tried it myself (bit hard to find here), but I'm sure it is jolly nice.

If you're into serious stouts, you need to check out Brouwerij de Molen (Restaurant Brouwerij de Molen), just south of Amsterdam - purveyors of arguably the world's finest stouts and porters at this time. They have a small beer festival at the end of every September ('Borefts') that is second to none, featuring specially invited brewers from across Europe (Thornbridge, Marble and the Kernel came from the UK this year).

Harvey's can only be described as "unfiltered Ouse water". Horrible stuff, yuk.

They've just done a special promotion selling gift packs of beer and glasses in some Colruyt supermarkets in Belgium. By all accounts (and judging by the photos) the queues there were horrendous as well, but at least you didn't have to phone ahead.

It's only a temporary offer though, I believe - the monks are trying to raise some extra cash for some renovations that need doing.

I heard that they needed to upgrade their testicle clamps and invest in a state of the art self-flagellator. Ah well as the advert said " for every pleasure there is pain "...that must happen when we drink their beer.
