Former Albion prospect Grant Hall is on the brink of joining Spurs. The Seagulls are awaiting confirmation from the authorities that 20-year-old Hall, pictured, has signed a contract with the North London giants. They will be entitled to compensation for developing the centre-half if the clubs cannot agree a fee, as he is under 24. Hall rejected a three-year deal offered by Albion before his existing contract expired at the end of June. He featured for Tottenham’s academy team in a 2-1 friendly victory at Kingstonian on Monday night. The Argus first revealed Spurs’ interest at the beginning of April. They monitored the former Lewes defender playing for the development squad last season. Hall briefly broke into Albion's first team in January, making his debut as a substitute against Southampton at The Amex and his first start at home to Wrexham in the FA Cup a few days later. Hall is staying tight-lipped about his situation. Albion chief Gus Poyet, who watched the game at Kingstonian, said: “We’ll see where he finishes.* It’s up to him.”
