Got a friend who's a Madrid fan and he told me 3 weeks ago that the deal would break down because Madrid wouldn't pay what Arsenal were asking. He reckons Viera will now ask to leave and they'll have to take what Madrid are offering. Madrid are old hands at unsettling clubs and getting the players they want.

carrick will do ok at arsenal, however he is not the player they need plus he will get pushed down the pecking order when they bring in new players
