Duruz has extensive experience in European competition. He has played UEFA Champions League matches against Juventus, Manchester United and Valencia. He has represented Switzerland at U16, U18, U20 and U21 level. He speaks three languages: German, French and English.

Do we really want a Swiss defender? Aren't they all full of holes?

Mind you to quote a paper from the Land of Convicts, "The Knights (his team in NZ) have no-nonsense defender, Greg Duruz, returning from suspension." Wow - "no-nonsense" in the country where they've all done a spot of GBH.

Yes, a messageboard is about views but your views are so permanently negative against the club it makes you wonder why you bother.

While I disagree with you about that you are entitled to your opinion. However, I would still say that taking a player on trial is not a reason to take another swipe at the chairman.

It wouldn't matter who we had in charge, we're still not going to attract Ronaldinho, Kaka and Messi to Withdean for God's sake.

We're a Division 3 team who can only realistically expect to sign Division 3 standard players, the vast majority of whom will be nowhere near household names.

Of course we'd all like to see some "famous" names here, but it's simply not realistic whether Dick Knight is running the club or not.

Used to play for Basle currently playing for FC Thun. Also played in Australia. (A League team Newcastle Jets & Wellington Phoenix) (Used to be New Zealand Knights).

His CV is impressive, an U21 international who has played at the top level in Switzerland, in Europe, and in the French equivalent of the Championship with Amiens. He is also a good age, most of our central defenders are young, with the exception of Butters who is old (by football standards). He is about the right age for a defender.

We'll see if anything happens but he seems fairly useful on paper.
