Gordon Greer admits Albion fans would have been within their rights to boo their*team off at Wigan.
The Seagulls skipper admits his side were not good enough and failed a test of character as they went down 2-1 at the DW Stadium.
But he felt it could have all been different had they taken chances they created after getting back on level terms through Dale Stephens.
The centre-back said: “It was a massive game. It was a big test of character for all of us and we didn’t pass it.
“Look at the performance. We had a lot of people travel up to watch us and support and they were well within their rights to boos us off at the end.
“They didn’t do that. Over recent weeks, we have put on some decent displays but we didn’t do that today.”
“We are really disappointed. We are at the bottom of the league fighting for our lives, as are Wigan. We wanted to come up here and put on a good team display and we didn’t do it.
“We were fully aware how big a game it was. When it went to one-each we had a few chances and we didn’t take them.
“Then we were punished at the other end.
“We need to take full responsibility.”
