Great Sussex CCC memories

Today's events have reminded me of other past glories watching or following SCCC. Does anyone else remember the Gillette Cup win I think in 1978 when we beat Somerset complete with IVA Richards, IT Botham and Big Bird? They were massive favourites.

I'll never forget running on to the outfield when we won and Dickie Bird in his amiable Yorkshire way throwing a stump at me and telling me to f*** off back to behind the boundaries.

I think we won the JPL about that time also.

Also remember Gary Gilmour scoring 4 6s in one over in the 1975 World Cup at Hove, (shortly before he was executed).

Anyone got any other memorable stories?

my favourite memory of Sussex CCC is that no-one gave a hoot yesterday.

I remember that Jambo. I'm pretty sure we were at Millwall that day and had won 4-1. Fantastic times.

seriously.I have a great memory of going to a Hove midweek game in the mid 90s, there was a tour side playing,possibly W Indies, and there was v loud reggae coming out of one of the tower blocks next door.It was a hot great day and the announcer had to keep apologising to the members while the police tried to find the culprits.
