As the whole area from Littlehampton to Newhaven is a regeneration zone (because it is below the national average for household incomes) any regeneration project approved by SEEDA, the regional board can expect to have support in terms of money and Planning Permission.

Dont you mean Adur? I dont think Newhaven is part of the regeneration area.

SEEDA are a bit naff with genrally crappy plans (cause they are based in Guildford I suspect) so I would not go much on them.

Most of the regions are getting some dosh, especially Hull (who have got a nice new stadium) but in the south-east it is the coastal bit that is all classed in the zone. This does not include Burgess Hill, Crawley that are well off and that is the point. I am sure it is the whole coastal area from Littlehampton to Newhaven (from memory).

It just remains what sort of "pie in the sky" plans SEEDA envisage. SEEDA seem to want to asset strip Shoreham Harbour and turn it into flats for Londoners. (This is the Moss plan backed by Brighton Council.)

I also suspect that the piles of waste (which is mainly building waste and earth) are a secret plan to enlarge Shoreham Airport to take all the crappy planes that Gatwick doesn't want. That will be about as popular as a motorway going through your back garden.

The real onus for Pende, land between Shoreham Airport and Lancing, (my interpetation) is to get something decent built on the land. (It is not suitable for houses or hypermarkets, most of it.)

It is not even as though the airport entension plan would be popular with the current users. The pleasure flights would get squeezed out by any commerical operations. The taxiing area will come right up to the existing houses. With Gatwick just around the corner, it seems an unnecessary waste, but it has not been announced. there is just the piles of gravel, hardcore, building material lumped in a pile. Lots of piles of earth as well.

The poorest districts in Sussex are

Rother
Wealden
Adur

in that order then theres a significant gap. Most of the Blah that comes out of Seeda concerns the opening of an eastern corridor(Down hastings way) and development of the Craplands west of Brighton.

I'll get the forcasting model out for all the districts...
