Good to have him back we missed him big time. Although he was at fault for the 1st goal he did a sterling job, he was also the one who put the balls through which led to both of our goals!

I agree. I thought he was superb yesterday. He reassures the whole defence with his presence alone. Shame he's missed 7 games this season on ridiculous suspensions (not including the 2 he carried over from Swindon)

What did he do wrong for the first, Calderon chested it down ever so kindly for their player to take a touch and bang it in, what could Greer have done?

From yesterdays programme: "... I only have myself to blame. It has been a hard lesson for me to learn from, but I will learn - as skipper. I don't want to be missing out on any more games as a result of red cards."

The passing out from defence to midfield has SO much more fluency when Gordon's present. Really noticed it yesterday.

One of his biggest strengths is that he always makes himself available to have the ball from either another defender or the keeper and is comfortable when he receives the ball.

He got turned far to easy, closer marking and a challenge when turned would have helped.

To be fair he should never be in a one on one situation there. Calderon's got caught out of position. But yeah he got done, good turn by Afobe though.

His weakness is his lack of control over his temper

opponents respect Greer (as they do Ferdinand) and stand off him when he has the ball, unlike Tommy E - they either close him down or just wait for him to run into trouble.

We won't know how good Greer is until he comes up against good players every week next season (same with Calderon, El Abd and Painter)

Where do you think Elphick is going then?

I'd like him to stay but he'll never be first choice and will only play when players are suspended or injured. He did well at Watford in the FA Cup but whether or not it's his fault we have leaked goals recently when he has played. Not sure what his contract position is but believe he would walk into most L1 and 2 teams.....but no higher.

Are you suggesting Greer has an easier time of it because opponents stand off him? I think the difference is, if they close down Greer, they lose shape and he'll make a good pass to punish them. If they close down Elphick he's more likely to lose the ball. Agree though that we're going to find out a lot about our players next season, hopefully they're up to the test!

Exactly. I would suggest that some teams in L1 have the resources to watch opponents, spot their weaknesses, etc. In the Championship all teams will have done their homework.
