Anybody else looking forward IMMENSELY to this new documentary on the good Doctor that is in cinemas from today? The COGNOSCENTI will of course be spurning the Odeon as they would a rabid dog, in favour of the plush velour interior of the Duke Of York (screening 23rd December 4pm). It's what baby Jesus and all his little eves would have wanted. One might almost say YAY! :clap2:

Yes, went to Herman Dune last night at the Duke of Yorks and saw the poster, thouht this needs to be a part of my Christmas. Perhaps a double bill with the Swindon away day game.

I heard it was quite decent but not enough balance. More of a 'Wasn't everything about Hunter perfect' - an approach which journalistically would have propably disgusted the great man.

definitely going to watch it but he went down in my estimation after I recently read his book about the hell's angels. His attitude to gang rape left me a bit numb. It was almost as if he justified it on the basis that the women knew what would happen. Made me realize that there was a vein of misogyny through all his writing. I'm okay with that, just not keen on apologists for rape.

Just got back from Duke of York.

All I'd say is load up on acid and Wild Turkey/JD (only JD available at DoY)

Funniest f***ing docu I ever did see - tho has to be said nobody else was giggling like a LOON.

Maybe tho cos me and bruv get a mention in Ralph Steadman's biography ‘The Joke’s Over – Memories Of Hunter S Thompson’ where our behaviour was so gross as to warrent a letter from RS to HST dated 11.5.82. Makes it a bit more persona ltho eh?

And even if we didn't, GONZO! was utterely UTTERLY full of politico gems, mainly (about 90%) from the Seventies then fast forward to the 00's

It lasted two hours. i'd have been glued for about eight hours. All time hero bar NONE
