Trying to be positive. Aside from the dreadful defending today, we have the second best defence in the division.

However, if there were a league table based on goals scored there are only five teams who have scored less goals.

Sums up what we already knew but makes me feel happier about our position in the league. It could be a lot worse.

It's clear to see fans frustration because we simply only play 1 way if we're winning or losing. There really is no plan b as far as I can see and so many of our results are based on who scores first. Having said this, I'm not calling for Gus to leave or get sacked, but am hoping he now directs his attentions to this forthcoming window of opportunity and changes personnel accordingly. We have players who are contracted until the summer who I'm sure he will look to ship out if he can to allow him to bring in the quality needed. If he makes little or no signings in jan then I fully expect wholesale changes during the summer. I would be amazed if he keeps the majority of the league 1 side that we currently have on the books..
To call for his head now is knee jerk IMO and he has to have the opportunity to redress the squad accordingly in the coming months. If this isn't done before the start of next season then I would have to reconsider my thoughts on where he can actually take us. IMO he knows exactly what he needs but it doesn't come cheap.... There's the stumbling block...

Accurate summation.

We don't appear to have the ability to up the tempo of the game when needed, its a montone style of play. I'm not sure whether we should just tread water for the remainder of the season and hope we stay clear of relegation or go and get somebody who has an established goal scoring record in the Championship or higher and take the associated risks that go with it.
