Never been before but my lad’s playing in a tournament there on Saturday and I’m just working out best way to get there.

Coming from Hampshire - considering driving to Richmond and then tubing it to Fulham Broadway, does that sound sensible? I’m guessing parking is very difficult around the stadium.

I’m not a London regular by any means so any advice much appreciated!

I'd book a driveway on one of the online parking sites. I did it for a Chelsea match and was within a five minute walk.

Guess it depends how much it costs to park in Richmond as there is parking available around Fulham Broadway but obviously it’s charged. But if it’s same sort of price as Richmond then may as well drive all the way in

Some good parking options on Just Park relatively close to the stadium

When we last drove a few years ago we parked in the multi story at Wimbledon station/shopping mall and got the tube to Fulham Broadway. Worked very well and was dead easy with the added bonus of toilets/ restaurants etc at Wimbledon but have trained it the last few years so best check parking etc

Have you tried asking Cucurella? He seemed to be able to find his way there without even using a map.

Richmond isnt on that part of the line that calls at Fulham Broadway.
Better option is to park by Southfields tube and take the district line from there
No parking restrictions at weekends

Ah, yeah, but in fairness that was because he was driven past there on his way from the airport. I think that was his eureka moment when he’d remembered that he’d always wanted to play for them.
Yes, using that famous route from Heathrow to Lancing via the Kings Road.

Don't tube it.

Richmond to Clapham Junction SW Rail. Get a fast connection that doesn't stop or stops once. That's 10 minutes at most.

It's the train to London (Waterloo) they all stop at The Junction.

Then get the overland (Platform 1) to West Brompton (nearest) or Imperial Wharf. Very 15 minutes it's basically the overland tube.

If you park in Wimbledon get the TRAIN to Clapham Junction (7 minutes), then do the same via platform1 to West Brompton.

Getting the underground when you there is a steam train (or horse drawn bus) available is terribly common and something that only a tourist would do.

If you wish to take in Madame Tussauds and come back with a fake Paddington by all means go down into the tunnels.

But a city gent like myself will always travel above ground especially to take in the slums in the general Croydon area.

Here, there and everywhere
Park between Barons Court and West Kensington, with free on-street parking. Get the tube one or two stops to Earls Court, change at Earls Court, then two stops southbound to Fulham Broadway. Unless it's a Wimbledon District Line train, in which case no need to change at Earls Court.

I find it one of the easier London stadiums to drive to. I've paid for street parking within a 20 minute walk of the away end several times in the last few years. Usually go for the roads off the A217 as you head back towards the river.

I live in Molesey, by Hampton Court (handy for the M3/A3). If you don't find the idea of sitting in London traffic for ages, you could park up near HC station (Palace (sorry) or Wolsey Road are very near the station and free to park in). Then get the train to Wimbledon and tube to Fulham Broadway. It takes less than an hour, maybe even 45 minutes. For the return, if Fulham Broadway is heaving, you can stroll down to Parson's Green and beat the queues.

Oh, but check the trains are running at weekends first, of course!

Hope that helps.

I usually drive, park south of the river and walk over as it avoids the worst of the traffic. Either find a driveway on justpark.com or I use the covered P&D car park on Smuggler’s Way in Wandsworth.
